About the Role
The Mobile Building Engineer provides hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting support across a portfolio of buildings, responding to service requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring systems function efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Respond to maintenance and repair requests at various building sites
- Diagnose and fix issues in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot mechanical and building automation systems
- Ensure compliance with safety codes and operational standards
- Maintain accurate records of service and repairs
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Assist with emergency call-outs and after-hours support
- Coordinate with property management teams for access and priorities
- Install and repair lighting, fixtures, and electrical components
- Conduct plumbing repairs including leaks and drain issues
- Monitor boiler, chiller, and rooftop unit performance
- Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability goals
- Transport tools and equipment between locations
- Document work performed using digital maintenance systems
- Escalate complex issues to senior technicians or contractors
- Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after service
- Adhere to building codes and regulatory requirements
- Provide feedback on equipment condition and replacement needs
- Assist with move-in and move-out related building services
- Respond promptly to urgent facility disruptions
- Perform minor carpentry and drywall repairs as needed
- Ensure fire safety systems are unobstructed and functional
- Support compliance with ADA and accessibility standards
