Responsibilities
- Oversee production south operations at the open-cut coal mine at Dawson Mine
- Report to the Mining Superintendent
- Demonstrate a drive for safety as well as strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Manage and lead a team of Mining Supervisors to ensure operational production standards are met
- Support the Mining Superintendents and Operations Manager with mining activities
- Plan mining activities to ensure overburden stripping and coal mining are undertaken safely, cost effectively, and efficiently
- Ensure mining activities align with agreed operational standards and targets
- Plan, monitor, and coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources to achieve Dawson’s set targets and schedules
- Build and maintain a proactive safety culture in the Operations team
- Deliver and attend toolbox talks, hazard awareness, education, and training
- Make recommendations to continuously improve safety and operational objectives of the mine
Requirements
- Experience as a Mining Coordinator
- Ability to manage and lead a team of Mining Supervisors
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated drive for safety
- Experience in planning and coordinating mining activities
- Ability to plan, monitor, and coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources
