Turner & Townsend is hiring a Millwork Management Consultant

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate subcontractor proposals and adjust pricing to align with market benchmarks.
  • Contribute to cost forecasting, inflation assumptions, and procurement planning.
  • Analyze and negotiate change orders for financial and timeline implications.
  • Examine shop drawings and submittals to ensure alignment with design, specs, and regulations.
  • Detect conflicts between millwork and other building systems such as MEP, stone, metal, glass, and AV.
  • Supervise mockup and sample review processes to uphold quality requirements.
  • Suggest alternative materials, manufacturing techniques, and finishes to reduce costs while preserving design goals.
  • Identify potential for standardized components and modular construction approaches.
  • Deliver insights on millwork supply chain dynamics, production lead times, and workforce availability.
  • Advise on procurement phasing and early release of critical items to reduce schedule delays.
  • Verify fabrication and installation timelines; highlight risks to project critical path.
  • Provide guidance on site access, storage conditions, and material acclimatization needs.
  • Ensure compliance with project specs, fire safety ratings, accessibility standards, and sustainability criteria like FSC.
  • Develop quality assurance and quality control procedures for millwork workmanship and acceptance.
  • Comply with SOX control requirements as applicable to the position.
  • Communicate recommendations effectively to clients, designers, and contractors.
  • Maintain records of risks, value engineering ideas, and performance metrics for millwork scopes.
