About the Role

Responsibilities
- Conduct structural evaluations of existing bridges and recommend repair or replacement options
- Perform field inspections of bridges and related infrastructure to assess condition and safety
- Prepare engineering drawings and design documentation for new bridge projects
- Apply civil engineering principles to solve structural and geotechnical challenges
- Support project planning and development for transportation infrastructure in natural settings
- Collect field data using surveying and measurement tools
- Ensure designs comply with federal, state, and local engineering codes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on project execution
- Analyze soil and foundation conditions for bridge support structures
- Develop construction specifications and technical reports
- Monitor construction progress and verify adherence to design plans
- Identify potential risks in bridge projects and propose mitigation strategies
- Use engineering software for modeling and simulation of bridge systems
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies on permitting and compliance matters
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and engineering assessments
- Provide technical input during environmental review processes
- Assess load capacities and structural integrity of aging bridges
- Support emergency response efforts related to infrastructure damage
- Participate in site visits and fieldwork in remote or forested locations
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during field and design activities
