Miltenyi Biotec is hiring an MES IT Application Specialist to support and maintain our internally developed MES-LIMS solutions used in the production and quality control of cell and gene therapy products. You will manage the global service, troubleshooting, and optimization of this critical system built on Linux, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes, ensuring operational excellence and compliance in a high-stakes manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Ensure ongoing operations by performing all tasks within the scope of application support management according to ITIL standards.
- Maintain the application environment, security controls, solution documentation, and the operations handbook.
- Plan and execute integration, performance, and regression tests.
- Participate in service transition for new projects and applications.
- Design and produce standardized and customized reports.
- Formulate and conduct training sessions, including for global subsidiaries, both remotely and onsite.
- Set up and maintain a list of key users and provide on-call technical support.
- Lead cross-functional teams across departments and global locations to address business or systems issues.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, biotechnology, or a comparable field with strong IT affinity.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in application operations, support, or consulting, especially with MES in high-availability environments.
- Excellent process knowledge in a manufacturing environment, ideally with a clinical background.
- Experience managing applications on various OS platforms (Linux, Windows Server), databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL), and containerization (Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with programming and scripting languages like C, Java, JavaScript, Python, and VBA.
- Deep understanding of agile methods, ITIL, DevOps, and a proven track record in stable IT application operations.
- Experience in computer-aided system validation (CSV) related to FDA CFR Part11 and ISO13485 quality standards.
- Ability to manage projects in high-compliance environments (GMP, FDA-regulated).
- Strong cross-cultural collaboration skills and the ability to lead diverse, distributed teams.
- Ability to create and deliver clear training materials and communications to diverse stakeholders.
- Must speak English fluently.
Nice to Have
- Experience with inbound and outbound application interfaces and messaging brokers, ideally with NATS and SAP/CPI.
- German language skills.
