Allegheny Health Network is hiring a Mental Health Technician to join the team at SVH. In this full-time, onsite role, you will maintain safety and structure by observing and recording patient information pertinent to treatment plans. You will work under nursing supervision, reporting key information to appropriate staff.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to provide on-going assessment of changes in patient status, gathering pertinent patient care data through rounding and interaction.
- Organize patient care tasks according to priority and importance.
- Obtain vital signs and height and weight measurements.
- Provide crisis intervention on the unit to maintain safety.
- Respond to facility Code events.
- Report any changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff and suggest modifications to the master treatment plan.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or one to two years of relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Non-violent crisis intervention certification required within six months of hire.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
Nice to Have
- 1–3 years of mental health or clinical experience.

You will work under nursing supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary care team.
