Mass General Brigham through The McLean Hospital Corporation is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care to psychiatric patients, contributing directly to treatment and recovery under the direction of Registered Nurses.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct care to patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Contribute to patient assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation within hospital policies.
- Collaborate and cooperate with nursing staff and other health care personnel to promote patient treatment and recovery.
- Work collaboratively to ensure a safe, therapeutic treatment environment.
- Assist with behavioral or management issues in inpatient psychiatric areas and other hospital areas as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated clinical competency in appropriate psychiatric settings.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to get along well with others and confront issues appropriately.
- Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric conditions.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of psychiatric experience.
- Group leadership skills.
