Mass General Brigham is hiring a Medicine Unit Coordinator to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. You will provide crucial administrative support to clinicians and staff on an inpatient unit, acting as the primary liaison between patients, visitors, and clinicians. You will organize priorities, manage confidential patient information, and partner with nursing to coordinate patient flow.
What You'll Do
- Perform clerical and other duties to assist in the general administration of the floor or unit.
- Greet and interact with patients, families, visitors, and coworkers in person and via communication tools professionally.
- Receive, prioritize, organize, and manage information at the central nursing station and throughout the unit.
- Schedule consultations, tests, procedures, and patient transport to other departments.
- Enter accurate and timely information about admissions, discharges, and transfers into the electronic medical record.
- Contact ancillary service departments to obtain equipment, services, and supplies; track status and location; facilitate repairs.
- Assist manager with payroll duties, staff scheduling, or supervision of unit secretaries, as needed.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-3 years of administrative support experience
Nice to Have
- Associate's Degree in a related field of study
- Certified Health Unit Coordinator (NAHUC)
