Washington University in St Louis is hiring a Medical Secretary III to provide comprehensive administrative support for providers within the Biliary section of the Division of Gastroenterology. This primarily remote role involves critical support functions including patient communication, schedule management, and medical documentation, while serving as a key administrative liaison.
What You'll Do
- Transcribe medical documents such as physician’s letters, correspondence, nurse’s notes, and manuscripts.
- Maintain physician’s daily appointment schedule and calendar, schedule meetings, arrange conference calls, and handle travel arrangements.
- Schedule appointments and procedures for patients.
- Prepare patient charts, including delivering workups.
- Greet visitors, answer telephones, take messages, and screen patient inquiries.
- Serve as liaison between patients, physicians, and staff, providing routine information.
- Assist administrative and clinical staff during peak times, vacations, and illnesses.
- Assist with retrieval and delivery of reports and films.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification, or a combination of education and/or experience.
- 3 years of experience in a Medical Office Setting.
Nice to Have
- Associate degree.
- Skills in Communication, Decision Making, Medical Terminology, Microsoft Office, Software Packages, and Working Independently.
