As a Medical Scribe, you'll play a vital role in supporting primary care providers by capturing detailed, real-time documentation during patient visits. Working in a hybrid capacity, you'll split time between in-person clinic sessions and remote tasks, ensuring every clinical encounter is accurately reflected in the patient record. This position is available exclusively to residents of Arizona and is essential to streamlining provider workflows and improving patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Accompany providers during patient exams to observe and document key components including history, physical findings, assessment, and treatment plans
- Create structured clinical notes with precision and timeliness
- Apply correct CPT and ICD-10 codes to support accurate billing and reporting
- Generate After Visit Summaries for patient and care team use
- Collaborate with providers to refine documentation and ensure completeness
- Request and review prior medical records to support continuity of care
- Support population health initiatives by maintaining high-quality clinical data
- Assist in preparing for team huddles and documentation reviews
- Place referrals and orders as directed by the provider
- Complete assigned tasks that contribute to efficient clinical operations
What You’ll Need
- Familiarity with medical terminology and common medications, gained through pre-med studies or hands-on clinical exposure
- Strong listening and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency with computers and a willingness to learn new software systems
- Adaptability to evolving workflows and provider preferences
- Self-motivation and reliability in managing responsibilities
- Consistent attendance and availability for in-clinic shifts
- Commitment to at least one year, with a preference for longer tenure
- Ability to work full-time hours (approximately 40–45 hours per week) during clinic operating times
- Adherence to privacy standards, including HIPAA, and organizational policies
- Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred Background
- Previous experience in a clinical setting, such as shadowing or volunteering
- Experience as a scribe or transcriptionist
- Typing speed of 70+ words per minute
- Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by patients in our communities (required where specified)
Compensation & Benefits
This full-time role offers an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $25.65, with eligibility for bonus, commission, or short-term incentive programs.
