Novartis is looking for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in Oncology/Hematology to serve the Illinois territory. This field-based, customer-facing role advances clinical practice through scientific exchange and partnership, aiming to improve patient outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Establish and build professional relationships with healthcare professionals and thought leaders in your geographical territory.
- Engage customers through discussions on emerging data, clinical trials, disease state education, and by capturing medical insights and adverse events.
- Develop and execute a strategic territory plan, identifying key accounts and medical engagement opportunities.
- Identify key stakeholders and opportunities for partnership with academic centers and systems of care.
- Facilitate involvement of healthcare professionals in activities like publications or clinical trial participation when specific needs are identified.
- Collaborate effectively with internal colleagues across functions such as HEOR, marketing, and commercial.
- Provide clinical trial support for Novartis-sponsored studies and maintain in-depth therapeutic area and product knowledge.
- Execute all administrative responsibilities, including CRM management and expense reporting, in a timely manner.
- Champion new strategic priorities and proactively drive personal and professional development.
What We're Looking For
- Graduate degree in science or healthcare required; doctoral degree preferred (MD, PhD, DNP, PharmD, etc.).
- For Manager Level: 0-3 years of experience in a Field Medical position within the pharmaceutical industry or as an MSL.
- For AD Level: Minimum of 3 years experience in a Field Medical-based position within the pharmaceutical industry or as an MSL is preferred.
- Strong clinical knowledge including pharmacotherapy, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, and relevant FDA regulations.
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with applicable law, regulations, and Novartis policies, including Ethics and Compliance standards.
- Candidate must reside within the Illinois territory, or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 50 miles from its border.
- This is a field-based position requiring approximately 60-70% travel.
- For roles with a company car: Must have a fully valid and unrestricted driver's license.
Nice to Have
- For Manager Level: 3-5 years of relevant medical affairs or clinical research experience in a scientific/clinical setting. Previous experience in the assigned therapeutic area is preferred.
- For AD Level: 5-7 years of relevant medical affairs or clinical research experience in a scientific/clinical setting required. Previous experience in the assigned therapeutic area is preferred.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: For Manager: $145,600 - $270,400; for AD: $160,300 - $297,700 per year.

Work Mode
