About the Role

Abbott Laboratories is hiring a Medical Science Liaison to act as the primary medical and scientific expert for Abbott Diabetes Care products in the Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama regions. In this key field-based role, you will engage with external stakeholders to provide expert advice and support the scientific credibility of our portfolio.

What You'll Do

  • Provide scientific and medical leadership to build professional relationships with key thought leaders and external experts.
  • Establish a strong medical and scientific presence in key academic centers by facilitating research and educational initiatives.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for thought leaders within your assigned geographic area.
  • Deliver credible scientific presentations to healthcare providers, with a focus on Tier 1 and 2 thought leaders.
  • Participate in identifying qualified thought leaders for collaborative educational and advisory roles.
  • Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences, develop summaries of key data, and staff the Medical Affairs exhibit booth at national meetings.
  • Provide scientific and technical support for publications of interest to thought leaders and external experts.
  • Conduct all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, and company policies.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a health sciences field.
  • Current clinical licensure and board certification (e.g., Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, or Pharmacist) in accordance with state/national regulations.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a health sciences field.

Nice to Have

  • An advanced degree (e.g., PharmD, MD/DO, NP/DNP, PA, PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline.

Team & Environment

This is a field-based role interfacing regularly with appropriate US commercial team members while retaining functional independence.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Annual salary range: $111,300 – $222,700

Work Mode

This is a remote position based in the United States, covering the Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama regions.
