International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc., is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to provide comprehensive health services to US Department of State, Department of Defense, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. You will perform a wide range of diagnostic lab tests and procedures, ensuring quality patient care in a critical environment.
What You'll Do
- Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
- Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
- Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results.
- Actively participate in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
- Complete all required organizational and client-specified compliance education.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, including 6 months within the last year.
- Certification through ASCP, AMT, NCALP, or AAB.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or a related field.
- Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements and be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident with a valid US Passport (minimum 18 months validity).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (MRPT).
- Ability to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
Nice to Have
- Experience on a military site as a government subcontractor or prime contractor.
- Applicants with current security clearances.
