Ochsner Health is looking for a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Pediatric Primary Care Clinic. In this role, you will provide individualized patient care under supervision and play a key part in ensuring efficient patient flow and a positive care experience.
What You'll Do
- Support the patient and provider throughout the entire patient visit.
- Ensure both patient and provider are fully prepared for the visit.
- Answer patient questions prior to discharge and prepare the room for the next appointment.
- Provide excellent patient service through effective communication, both in person and over the phone.
- Complete appropriate documentation, including patient registration when necessary.
- Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials through ongoing professional development.
- Adapt behavior to the pediatric patient population, including respect for privacy and appropriate communication styles.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with and maintaining confidential information.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice to Have
- Completion of a formal medical assistant training program.
Work Mode
This position requires working onsite at the clinic.
