What You'll Do
Design and refine mechanical process systems for wastewater treatment facilities, translating conceptual ideas into functional engineering solutions. Use 3D modeling platforms to generate precise contract drawings, including plans, elevations, and sections, ensuring they meet construction and operational standards. Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and Process Flow Diagrams in AutoCAD 2D, and prepare equipment data sheets tailored to project needs.
Collaborate with project teams to adapt technical specifications based on evolving requirements and client goals. Identify and address technical challenges efficiently, escalating when necessary to senior leads. Support commissioning phases and long-term operational planning for groundwater and industrial wastewater systems, contributing to reliable, sustainable performance. Participate in design development throughout turn-key project lifecycles, aligning with delivery timelines and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of experience in wastewater treatment design, or an Associate’s degree or technical certification with 10 years of relevant experience
- Proven ability to create detailed process mechanical designs using 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D or Revit MEP
- Experience generating functional contract drawings and P&IDs from conceptual inputs using AutoCAD 2D
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaborative problem-solving
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Familiarity with additional modeling platforms such as AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with hydraulic modeling software like PIPE-FLO or DESIGNET
- Background in commissioning and long-term operations of wastewater treatment systems
- Involvement in turn-key project delivery processes
