Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to operations, inspections, maintenance, reliability, and technical departments.
- Engage in identifying and resolving equipment or system issues with a focus on safety and effectiveness.
- Develop skills in performing engineering calculations for flange gasket bolting, brittle fracture assessments, piping stress, and pressure vessel analysis using recognized standards, internal templates, and advanced software tools.
- Support Fitness For Service evaluations for piping and pressure vessels in accordance with API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, utilizing manual computations and commercial engineering programs.
- Help prepare for facility shutdowns by participating in on-site inspections and collecting relevant technical data.
- Assist in sourcing components such as small pressure vessels, piping systems, fittings, hoses, flanges, gaskets, and fasteners.
- Take part in constructability reviews and process hazard analyses for minor engineering projects.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of a Mechanical Engineering bachelor’s degree at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Available to start a 12-month work term in September 2026.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal abilities and leadership qualities through academic or extracurricular involvement.
- Possesses clear and effective verbal and written communication skills suited to a dynamic workplace.
- Shows creativity and analytical reasoning, with solid time management, initiative, and adaptability in fast-paced settings.
- Capable of collaborating effectively using both in-person and virtual communication methods.

- Prior co-op or internship experience is an asset.
