Life360 is looking for a Mechanical Engineer, Parcel to apply engineering principles to design material handling systems. You will be responsible for creating detailed drawing sets and contributing to a collaborative project team, ensuring designs meet all customer and clearance requirements.
What You'll Do
- Review and apply customer specifications to design
- Check architectural drawings against conveyance designs for interferences and clearance
- Participate in and potentially lead technical discussions with customers and suppliers
- Produce detailed mechanical installation drawings
- Create detailed Bills of Material for purchasing equipment
- Create point load drawings when required
- Verify calculations, such as horsepower and throughput
- Work with vendors to review equipment drawings and specifications for compliance
- Produce and/or compile installation details for the field
- Travel to job sites to verify field conditions
- Report drawing status to the Project Engineer to maintain the project schedule
- Create and maintain CAD files
- Review and create as-built drawings
- Occasionally design parts or platforms required for the system
- Provide other required engineering tasks as necessary
What We're Looking For
- BS in a technical discipline (ME, EE, other engineering/CAD)
- 4-6 years of experience with projects in the parcel space
- Solid knowledge of drafting & design standards
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Flexible and able to transition between several projects
- Excellent written communication skills
- Understand that the details make the big picture work, and like working in the details
- More excited about the success of your team than your own personal success
