Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical system development from concept through low-rate production, managing end-to-end execution.
- Define technical requirements, develop solution approaches, and establish evaluation and verification methods for mechanical systems.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and systems teams to integrate components into robust, scalable, and economical platforms.
- Lead design reviews, perform engineering analysis, engage with suppliers, and execute prototyping and test plans.
- Improve team efficiency by advancing internal tools, documentation standards, and engineering processes.
- Foster a dynamic, supportive, and engaging team culture focused on learning and high performance.
- Optimize mechanical designs considering development timeline, weight, production feasibility, and cost constraints.
- Support key customer-facing hardware demonstrations to validate system capabilities.
- Travel as required to conduct testing, visit suppliers, and support field operations.
