Responsibilities
- Conduct structural and thermal stress analyses on reactor system components
- Develop finite element models to evaluate mechanical performance under operational conditions
- Support design verification and code compliance for nuclear-grade equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges
- Document analysis methods and results in technical reports
- Ensure adherence to ASME, NRC, and industry standards
- Perform fatigue and fracture assessments for critical parts
- Review manufacturing and fabrication drawings for analytical feasibility
- Lead component qualification efforts for safety-related systems
- Provide engineering input during design reviews and audits
- Apply probabilistic methods to assess component reliability
- Evaluate dynamic loads from seismic and transient events
- Support licensing documentation with technical justification
- Use simulation software for thermal-structural coupling
- Monitor emerging analysis methodologies and tools
- Interface with testing teams to validate analytical models
- Maintain configuration control of analysis files
- Assist in root cause evaluations for design deviations
- Develop acceptance criteria based on regulatory guidance
- Present findings to internal and external reviewers
- Ensure traceability from requirements to analysis results
- Optimize designs using sensitivity and parametric studies
- Contribute to safety classification documentation
