Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for advanced automotive interior HMI systems, including mechatronic switches and tactile controls. You will lead the full design cycle—from initial concept to production release—ensuring performance, durability, and manufacturability in high-volume applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D CAD models, detailed 2D drawings with GD&T, and manage associated documentation using PDM/PLM systems
- Define critical dimensions and conduct tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure functional reliability
- Support design validation through DFMEA participation, requirements traceability, and verification planning
- Optimize designs for manufacturing and assembly, considering injection molding, stamping, overmolding, ultrasonic welding, heat staking, adhesives, and laser marking
- Collaborate on prototype builds, pre-series evaluations, and testing phases including DV and PV campaigns
- Identify and resolve design or production issues, implementing corrective actions through engineering changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in electromechanical product development, particularly with precision mechanisms
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, with preference for CATIA
- Strong understanding of GD&T, polymer part design, and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with automotive development standards and lifecycle processes
- Fluent English skills for technical communication
- Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset and hands-on problem-solving ability
