KOSTAL Group is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team developing automotive interior HMI devices. You will be responsible for the mechanical design of mechatronic switch modules and tactile control assemblies, from initial concept through to production release. What You'll Do
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for automotive interior HMI devices.
- Create and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and GD&T; manage BOMs and revisions in PDM/PLM.
- Define critical dimensions and perform tolerance stack-up analyses.
- Participate in design reviews and risk analyses; maintain requirements traceability and verification status.
- Drive DFM/DFA for high-volume production, including injection molding, stamping, machining, overmolding, ultrasonic welding, and laser marking.
- Support prototype builds and pre-series samples; contribute to DV and PV planning; troubleshoot issues and implement design improvements.
What We're Looking For
- A Mechanical Engineering Degree.
- Experience in the design and development of electromechanical products.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA preferred).
- Strong 2D drawing and GD&T skills.
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills with prototypes and production builds.
- Knowledge of automotive product development standards and processes.
- Working knowledge of polymer part design, processing, and assembly.
- Professional working proficiency in English (conversational and technical).
- A self-driven and proactive approach; a strong team player within design and cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience with plastic part detailing.
