Responsibilities
- Reviews work orders or follows spoken directions to identify which materials need to be transported
- May feed, remove, flex, jog, or stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels, or other work-in-progress items to and from equipment in assigned areas
- Manually loads and unloads materials onto and off pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
- May load materials into trucks and secure them with strapping, bracing, or padding using hand tools to prevent movement or damage during transit
- Transports materials between storage areas, workstations, and designated locations using hand trucks, electric dollies, or similar equipment
- Counts, weighs, and logs the number of material units handled or moved on daily production records
- Applies identification tags or labels to materials, or marks relevant details directly on containers such as cases or bales
- Stacks or groups materials and secures them into bundles using a banding machine and clincher
- May operate automated machinery or industrial vehicles such as forklifts or electric hoists to aid in moving materials
- Provides training and mentorship to new and current staff to ensure understanding of policies, procedures, and best practices for improved team efficiency
