Polymarket is seeking a Market Lead (Generalist) to shape, curate, and safeguard the backbone of our prediction markets. You will be responsible for deciding what markets to launch and when, crafting precise and innovative rulesets, and ensuring every market is clear, fair, and dispute-proof.
What You'll Do
- Own topic coverage to ensure we're addressing the right subjects across politics, crypto, sports, current events, and culture.
- Invent precise and innovative criteria for new market types and edge-case scenarios.
- Prioritize and schedule new market launches to maximize relevance and trader engagement.
- Continuously tighten wording on live markets, publish clarifications, and prevent ambiguous interpretations.
- Audit resolved markets for consistency, source integrity, and adherence to the spirit of the rules.
- Build pipelines to turn raw events into recurring, scalable market categories.
- Monitor trends and key events to ensure Polymarket is first to cover what matters.
- Systematize best practices by building playbooks for rule drafting, dispute handling, and post-mortems.
- Monitor regulatory guidance and peer platforms to keep Polymarket ahead of compliance risk.
- Pilot new market formats and types to push the frontier of what's possible.
What We're Looking For
- A sharp legal or analytical mind that spots loopholes before they become problems and loves airtight wording.
- Strong editorial taste and the ability to distinguish signal from noise.
- Exceptional technical writing skills, producing clear, neutral, and unambiguous prose.
- Intuition for how market incentives, liquidity, and trader behavior interact with rules.
- High agency and a proactive approach to hunting for issues and shipping fixes quickly.
- Rigor with data and processes, comfortable mining data, building checklists, and scaling audits with light automation.
- Ability to make fast, high-quality decisions in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to Have
- Fluency in forecasting, particularly in crypto, sports, or political markets.
- Experience in prediction markets, sports-book operations, compliance, or exchange rulebooks.
- A background in law, risk management, journalism, or dispute resolution.
- Product instinct and a systemic thinking approach to user flows.
- Ability to script or automate QA tools using SQL, Python, or similar.
- A network in key verticals such as sports, politics, or crypto.
- Personal trading or market-making history on Polymarket or similar platforms.
- Prior experience in a startup or other high-agency team environment.
