Responsibilities
- Drive quality engineering and supplier management for mechanical components, including plastic injection, die-casting, stamping, rubber molding, and CNC parts.
- Manage supplier quality performance, including supplier qualification, onsite audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collect and analyze supplier yield reports, identifying quality trends and driving data-driven improvements.
- Develop and maintain robust quality systems (e.g., IQC, OQC, IPQC) to ensure end-to-end quality control.
- Drive supplier resolution of quality issues using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, RCA, CAPA).
- Define product validation and reliability test standards, including detailed test plans and methodologies.
- Establish measurement methods and inspection criteria; review and approve inspection fixtures and gauges to ensure product quality compliance and measurement consistency.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) by ensuring process readiness, DFM feedback, and quality stability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with MPD, MEPM, MDE, MTE, PD, and Manufacturing teams on quality initiatives.
- Prepare data-driven reports and present findings to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Review and optimize Standard Inspection Procedures (SIP) and control plans to ensure alignment on inspection criteria.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or related field).
- 10+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or a related manufacturing field.
- Solid understanding of quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured mindset.
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills; ability to communicate technical issues clearly.
- Proven ability to define test standards and validation methodologies independently.
- Self-starter with strong program management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Working proficiency in English (capable of handling emails and technical discussions).
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience in tooling (mold) or manufacturing process development.
- Deep familiarity with reliability testing (e.g., environmental, mechanical, and life-cycle tests).
- Certified Lead Auditor or experience in comprehensive supplier development.
- Demonstrated expertise in fixture review and measurement system analysis using GD&T and GR&R, with strong command of SPC, MSA, and PPAP.
