Responsibilities
- Apply deep knowledge of Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) to improve product reliability and lifespan, while refining designs for easier manufacturing and assembly and strengthening supply chain performance.
- Design and manage key segments or the entirety of the manufacturing workflow for highly complex products.
- Lead initiatives to deploy new manufacturing systems and maintain clear communication with stakeholders on project status and process updates.
- Use automation and integrated digital workflows to enhance efficiency across production stages.
- Create detailed process flow diagrams, organizing intricate assemblies into logical sequences of subassemblies and process steps.
- Produce essential manufacturing documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and inspection criteria to support high-volume production.
- Partner with external contract manufacturers across multiple domains—including printed circuit board assembly, metal fabrication, and final assembly—to establish consistent, scalable processes for both rapid prototyping and volume production.
- Visit supplier sites to conduct initial evaluations, resolve production challenges, and deploy quality control measures.
- Support the mechanical and electrical design of customer-facing hardware components, including interconnects, circuit board fabrication, and inspection protocols.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality Assurance, Design Engineering, Technicians, and Program Managers to define quality benchmarks, inspection methods, design for manufacturing principles, troubleshooting procedures, and key program milestones.
