KLA is looking for a Manufacturing Design Engineer to provide technical support for complex computing systems in wafer inspection instruments. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing manufacturing processes and supporting new product development from initial design through to launch.
What You'll Do
- Handle daily production escalations for complex computing systems within advanced wafer inspection instruments.
- Provide strong technical support to the production team to ensure product shipment meets scheduled plans.
- Develop, implement, and maintain process flow and manufacturing documentation to optimize cycle time and quality.
- Actively participate in new product development, providing manufacturability design requirements during design reviews.
- Review and approve subsystem test methods and validate test fixtures.
- Receive theoretical and build training from the design team on image computer systems and lead the team for successful new product launch.
- Release Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to implement new design BOM structures for procurement and build requirements.
- Identify and qualify End-of-Life (EOL) parts to maintain product line continuity and shipment schedules.
- Control software versions, license keys, and option files for correct system and customer configurations.
- Provide fly-and-fix support for field escalations, analyzing and resolving issues requiring in-depth product design know-how, and support beta testing at customer sites.
- Manage suppliers, including specification agreements, cost reduction, ramp readiness, quality, and failure analysis.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 3 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of computer/server systems, GPU systems, high-performance storage servers, RAID controllers, memory modules, network switches, InfiniBand switches, and electrical systems.
- Extensive hands-on experience building and configuring high-performance computing systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for computers/servers operating in Windows and Linux environments, as well as local network systems.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to support technical issues, set up experiments, and perform data analysis.
- Ability to lead a team in defining solutions for complex issues.
- Ability to champion technical solutions for manufacturability issues found within product designs.
