Responsibilities
- Lead legal oversight for product development and launch activities
- Advise cross-functional teams on regulatory requirements and compliance risks
- Draft and negotiate product-related agreements and terms of service
- Interpret evolving laws impacting digital products and services
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and product management on legal implications
- Support privacy and data use policies in alignment with product features
- Manage external counsel engaged in product legal matters
- Identify legal risks in new product concepts and propose solutions
- Ensure adherence to consumer protection and advertising standards
- Guide policy development for user-generated content and platform features
- Monitor changes in technology law across multiple jurisdictions
- Lead due diligence for product integrations and third-party partnerships
- Develop legal frameworks for emerging product functionalities
- Maintain documentation for product legal decisions and approvals
- Serve as legal point of contact during incident response involving products
- Support intellectual property considerations in product design
- Provide training to product teams on legal standards and updates
- Work with compliance teams to address enforcement actions related to products
- Evaluate legal aspects of open source software in product environments
- Assist in managing product liability risks and disclosures
- Contribute to internal governance processes for product launches
- Stay current on case law and regulatory trends affecting digital offerings
