Wealthsimple is looking for a Manager, Treasury & Capital Markets to act as a strategic partner within the Treasury team. You will interact directly with banking partners, lenders, investors, fintechs, and capital markets counterparties to support Treasury initiatives and broader product launches. In this role, you will collaborate with leaders across product, operations, finance, legal, and compliance to find creative solutions to complex problems and help everyone achieve financial freedom.

What You'll Do

Lead strategic negotiations with banks, fintechs, and capital markets counterparties to support Treasury initiatives and Wealthsimple's product ecosystem.
Build and scale strategic partnerships to unlock new product capabilities and accelerate growth.
Manage Wealthsimple’s Treasury investment portfolio by proposing investment plans, executing strategy, and optimizing portfolio performance.
Identify and manage corporate foreign currency, interest rate, and equity exposure, including trade execution.
Propose and implement hedging strategies and ensure proper accounting treatment with the controller team.
Maintain and enhance the Investment Policy and Market Risk Management Policy.
Manage deposit capacity and seek ongoing opportunities beyond the industry status quo.
Leverage your professional network to create strategic alliances that provide a competitive edge.
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Regulatory, and Legal teams to enable seamless product launches.
Build best-in-class capital markets capabilities to enable product offerings that delight clients.

What We're Looking For

7+ years of Treasury and Capital Markets experience with direct external counterparty negotiation and engagement.
Exceptional relationship-building and management skills.
Demonstrated success launching new products and capabilities from scratch in fast-paced settings, especially with an external partner.
Strong knowledge of capital markets products and transactions, with the ability to structure creative solutions for complex problems.
Deep understanding of Treasury investment portfolio management, foreign currency, interest rate, and equity market risk management.
A passion for technology, specifically fintech.
Outstanding communication skills to translate complex Treasury concepts for a non-Treasury audience.
Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity and building as you go.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and bias for action.

Nice to Have

Prior experience in Canada and US liquidity regulations (LAR, LCR, internal liquidity stress testing), a bank’s FTP, and negotiating ISDA agreements.

Compensation: CAD $116,000 - $145,000 + equity.
