As the R&D Manager for Dental Materials Technology Platforms, you will lead a team of experts developing next-generation dental materials and delivery systems. Your role centers on defining and executing a strategic technology roadmap that aligns with portfolio goals, ensuring scientific rigor and clinical relevance across all stages of development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team with deep technical expertise in materials science, chemistry, and product engineering
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to ensure seamless integration of innovation into product pipelines
- Develop and implement a long-term technology strategy that supports future product development
- Drive invention and protection of intellectual property to strengthen market position
- Establish external partnerships with academic institutions and third-party innovators to accelerate R&D progress
- Work with upstream teams to identify unmet clinical needs and apply novel technologies to solve them
- Ensure robust design controls and compliance with regulatory standards across all technical deliverables
- Take ownership of technical outcomes, including validation, verification, and successful commercialization
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, engineering, or a related field, or a Master’s degree with substantial experience in the medical device sector. Proven experience in regulated product development using formal design controls is essential. Full professional fluency in both German and English is required.
