Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Manager, Talent Acquisition to play a key role in identifying and securing senior leadership and specialized talent critical to our sector's growth. Reporting to Sector HR Leadership and the Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence, you will provide strategic market insight, build proactive talent pipelines aligned with business forecasts, and develop trusted relationships within the industry.
What You'll Do
- Manage the entire talent acquisition cycle for the sector in collaboration with HR business partners and leadership teams.
- Translate growth objectives into scalable recruitment and employer brand strategies focused on leadership and specialized project roles.
- Build and maintain a 12-month recruitment forecast based on evolving business requirements.
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition Leadership Team to leverage standardized tools and processes for optimal outcomes.
- Proactively source and utilize data and market intelligence to inform hiring decisions and meet current and future talent needs.
- Utilize various sourcing methods, including industry events and networking, to identify potential candidates.
- Monitor performance metrics to assess team effectiveness and improve talent acquisition processes.
- Lead, coach, and develop a small team of talent acquisition professionals to source and engage diverse, high-quality talent.
- Stay informed on industry trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor hiring practices.
- Source, shortlist, and interview candidates as required by the Sector.
- Compose employment agreements and lead direct negotiations of total compensation with candidates.
- Ensure a positive and inclusive work culture where all ideas and insights are valued.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of talent acquisition experience, with a minimum of 5-8 years recruiting for senior positions and 3 years as a manager.
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior professionals.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role, with excellent stakeholder engagement, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience creating and implementing recruitment strategies that align with organizational goals, particularly in markets with talent shortages.
- Experience managing vendors and agencies to foster long-term partnerships.
- A demonstrated passion for acting as a brand ambassador and leading external campaigns to attract diverse talent.
Nice to Have
- A strong understanding of the construction industry and the leadership capabilities required for operational roles.
- Proficiency in managing immigration processes, with a focus on hiring and relocating expatriates to Canada (US experience is an asset).
Team & Environment
You will lead a small team of talent acquisition individuals. You will report directly to Sector HR Leadership (solid line) and maintain a dotted-line relationship to the Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence.
