ShipBob is looking for a Manager, Software Development to lead the delivery of production-level software from your teams. In this role, you will report to the Director, Software Development and work closely with Product Owners and QA to drive engineering excellence.

What You'll Do

Report on team performance and project progress.
Maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Implement and maintain best practice engineering methodologies.
Provide technical guidance to engineering teams and leadership.
Support organizational objectives by developing goals and strategies for teams and individuals.
Manage hiring and dismissal of engineers.
Handle additional duties and responsibilities as necessary.

9+ years of overall professional experience.
3+ years of people management involving performance management.
3+ years of project management experience with single or multiple stakeholders.
3+ years of service ownership experience.
Excellent problem-solving, programming, and communication skills.
An object-oriented mindset.
Ability to work quickly and collaboratively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to own small, well-scoped features through implementation.
A hands-on coding approach to engineering mentorship.
Ability to own medium and large features from design to implementation.
A defensive coding mindset with knowledge of OWASP.
Ability to own service-level system design.
A passion for QA and an understanding of testing.
