Evolve is hiring a Manager, Payroll

Evolve is hiring a Manager, Payroll to lead the payroll function for our 600+ person company. You will own the calculation, processing, and reconciliation of bi-weekly payroll in a multi-state environment, ensuring compliance and driving process improvements.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, process, and review bi-weekly full cycle US payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees, including benefits, taxes, and off-cycle requests.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local payroll, wage, and hour laws and regulations.
• Implement, maintain, and review HRIS/payroll processing systems and interfaces to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
• Process payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates accurately and on time.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Supervise and review the work of payroll support staff.
• Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
• Implement and document robust internal controls for payroll.
• Create and maintain proper documentation for payroll processing steps.
• Provide recommendations on process improvements to enhance the payroll experience.
• Partner with accounting, finance, and people teams to address regulatory changes and business strategy.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of payroll processing and systems management experience including earnings, deductions, garnishments, taxes, benefits, and general ledger mapping.
• 1+ years of supervisory experience for teams of 1 or more payroll support staff.
• Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
• Knowledge of and comfort with multi-state wage and hour laws and regulations.
• Proficient with payroll software Workday and ADP.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work autonomously with a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage complex and competing organizational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Possess a customer service and cross functional collaborative mindset.
• Maintain a high level of discretion and adhere to confidentiality standards.

Nice to Have

• Certified Payroll Professionals (CPP) or other recognized payroll certification.
