About the Role

Gilead Sciences, Inc. is seeking a Manager, Finance – Alliance and Collaborations Accounting to join our team in Cork. Reporting to the Alliance and Collaborations Director, you will support the accounting, control, and reporting activities for the region and work closely with cross-functional business partners to ensure quality financial information.

What You'll Do

  • Support the end-to-end alliance and collaborations accounting and reporting process.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities for assigned accounts, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and royalty payments.
  • Analyze and prepare variance explanations.
  • Prepare external filing and management reporting schedules.
  • Manage and coordinate related incoming and outgoing payments.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls for areas of responsibility.
  • Support the preparation of the budget and forecast.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Alliance Management, FP&A, Corporate Development, Technical Accounting, Legal and various internal and external business partners.
  • Support contract compliance and interpretation of royalty or other financial terms.
  • Assist with various ad hoc projects and initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Extensive experience and a background in Big 4 training.
  • Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) or equivalent qualification.
  • BA or BSc degree (or international equivalent) in accounting or an equivalent field.
  • Experience working in a multi-national organization.
  • Attention to detail, organized and thorough.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Highly analytical and a resourceful self-starter with excellent research capabilities, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Clear communicator (written and verbal) with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and other systems in general.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the biotech or pharmaceuticals industry.
  • Data analytics skills.
  • Proficiency with systems such as Alliant, Oracle/SAP, and Hyperion.
  • Hands-on operational experience in collaboration and alliance arrangements.

Work Mode
