Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of critical general ledger functions within a high-growth, complex organization
- Serve as a key driver in scaling accounting operations following multiple acquisitions
- Progressively expand responsibility to oversee broader aspects of the monthly close process
- Contribute to building a more efficient, scalable, and audit-ready accounting function
- Lead end-to-end accounting for payroll, equity, leases, accruals, and intercompany consolidation
- Manage the complete accounting cycle for assigned areas, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and internal reporting
- Ensure financial outputs are accurate, complete, and delivered on time in compliance with GAAP and internal policies
- Collaborate with senior leadership to manage close timelines and ensure on-time delivery of accounting deliverables
- Oversee internal reporting and flux analysis coordination across the accounting team
- Act as a central operator in the close process, promoting accountability across cross-functional stakeholders
- Proactively identify automation opportunities to streamline the close and reporting workflows
- Leverage internal AI tools to improve accuracy, reduce manual work, and optimize accounting processes
- Test and deploy scalable solutions to modernize accounting operations with leadership support
- Serve as the main liaison for auditors on assigned areas, supporting PBCs, walkthroughs, and testing
- Maintain and strengthen SOX controls across owned processes and support broader close controls
- Ensure all documentation is thorough, accurate, and prepared for audit review
- Support M&A integration efforts by aligning acquired entities with existing close and system processes
- Help implement new accounting procedures with a focus on scalability and adherence to company standards
- Supervise and mentor 2–3 accountants, providing guidance, performance feedback, and development support
- Foster discipline, organization, and high performance within the team, particularly during peak close periods
- Partner with FP&A on accruals, variance explanations, and budget-to-actual analysis
- Collaborate with Financial Systems and HRIS teams on payroll, equity, and system-related projects
- Work with Legal and business units on accounting treatments for accruals and other financial matters
