Role Overview
As the Maintenance Inventory Control Specialist, you will oversee the full lifecycle of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) parts within a grain elevator’s maintenance operations. Your primary responsibility is to ensure inventory accuracy through precise data management, physical verification, and process refinement.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify incoming shipments against packing slips and update the Inventory Control System to reflect receipts, returns, and location changes.
- Conduct weekly cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity and make adjustments as needed.
- Issue parts to work orders and ensure timely updates in the system based on technician input.
- Prepare and organize components for upcoming maintenance tasks, including kitting and staging for scheduled projects.
- Manage Min/Max inventory levels and support the implementation of efficient control processes across primary and remote storage areas.
- Track and coordinate the repair of parts through external vendors, including documentation and follow-up.
- Monitor shipping and receiving activities, preparing outbound MRO items for dispatch and ensuring compliance with handling procedures.
- Support auditors by providing accurate records and assisting with inventory validation and budget oversight.
- Escalate safety concerns, equipment issues, or operational irregularities to the Maintenance Supervisor promptly.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned and assist in data collection and analysis to improve inventory practices.
- Provide access support for unauthorized vendors by escorting them when necessary.
- Process purchase requisitions and parts orders through the Inventory Control System based on work order demands and stock needs.
