Responsibilities
- Interprets technical drawings and work orders to identify dimensional requirements, tolerances, and machining parameters such as cutting speeds, feed rates, and depth of cut, then plans the sequence of operations.
- Sets up work coordinate systems and establishes tool offsets for machining processes.
- Designs and implements methods for securing workpieces during machining, including custom fixturing and workholding solutions.
- Positions and secures raw materials or components using chucks, fixtures, centers, or machine tables.
- Configures and runs auxiliary equipment used in support of machining operations.
- Monitors machine performance and inspects finished parts to verify they meet specified standards and tolerances.
- Develops and modifies numerical control (NC) programs using industry-standard software like MasterCam.
- Follows internal quality protocols and uses production tracking software to manage workflow and job progress.
- Completes and maintains documentation including job travelers and first article inspection records to ensure traceability.
- Performs additional tasks as directed by supervisors or team leads.

- Assessing the accuracy, neatness, and completeness of assigned work.
- Operating in high-focus, fast-paced, and demanding conditions.
- Reading and understanding hazard warnings and safety signage.
- Handling, cleaning, and disposing of hazardous materials according to protocol.
- Reporting equipment malfunctions or unsafe working conditions promptly.
- Identifying, distinguishing, and interpreting colors for operational accuracy.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment such as face masks, face shields, gloves, and safety footwear.
- Capable of earning forklift and boom lift operator certifications.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Occasional weekend work may be necessary.
- Occasional schedule adjustments are expected.
- Occasional non-standard workweek hours may be needed.
- Occasional second shift work starting at 4:30 p.m. local time.
- Occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines and support launch activities.
