About the Role

APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is looking for a Low Boy Truck Driver to join our team. This is a skilled position where you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a lowboy truck to move equipment between our facilities, yard, and jobsites. What You'll Do

  • Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Operate a truck and trailer safely and efficiently to transport equipment, obeying all laws and dispatch instructions.
  • Load and unload equipment onto the trailer.
  • Secure loads properly using chains and binders in compliance with regulations.
  • Monitor vehicle gauges and investigate any abnormalities.
  • Report improper operation or defective materials and perform minor field repairs.
  • Complete written reports for necessary repairs and forward them to maintenance.
  • Move materials as directed to support job performance.
  • Maintain the vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Maintain operator logs, time cards, mileage sheets, and other required records.
  • Take action to avoid potential hazards on the road.
  • Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
  • Assist other team members in different areas of production as needed.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Class A CDL and a current interstate DOT medical card.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
  • A safety-minded professional with a record of good performance and attendance.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong ability to work and communicate well with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Experience loading and unloading onto a detachable goose-neck trailer.
  • Knowledge of DOT load securement regulations.

Nice to Have

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of general driving experience in a commercial or construction setting.
  • Double/Triple trailer endorsements.
