Brenntag North America is hiring a Logistics Import Specialist to effectively plan and manage domestic and international transportation, develop import processes, and work across several functional areas based on demand.
What You'll Do
- Support transportation service requirements, monitor carrier pick-ups and deliveries, and ensure performance indicators are met.
- Conduct daily routing to achieve the highest service level at the lowest cost through correct carrier selection.
- Update shipping guides as needed.
- Audit carrier invoices for accuracy and contract compliance, apply correct G/L accounts on freight bills, and negotiate freight claims.
- Resolve problems or complaints with 85% to full autonomy while meeting cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets.
- Maintain data records for import classification, recordkeeping, and audit requirements.
- Create reports and reporting mechanisms to monitor and control logistics costs, service standards, and transport plans.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and regulatory agencies.
- Support the vision and mission of the company.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field; or commensurate education and experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a related industry.
- Knowledgeable in general practices, procedures, and methods of purchasing transportation services.
- Knowledge of general business procedures and government requirements (US Customs, FDA, DOT, etc.).
- Well-versed in working with ERP and TMS.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of personal computers and software packages, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to interact with people at all levels within the organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under multiple, strict deadlines.
- Customer-centric qualities.
