M/I Homes is looking for a Loan Officer to originate residential first lien mortgages through a dedicated partnership with our Homebuilder. This role provides high-touch, financially knowledgeable loan origination service for a captured builder-sold customer base, leading to successful on-time originations. You will ensure superior customer service guided by the principle to always 'treat the customer right'.
What You'll Do
- Partner with new home sales personnel to initiate contact with purchasers and complete loan applications.
- Collect supporting documentation and prepare/communicate the initial Loan Estimate.
- Prequalify potential borrowers as needed and oversee all customer loan price negotiations.
- Manage the overall loan transaction by communicating with applicant(s), processors, underwriters, and creditors to resolve questions.
- Oversee timely scheduling of loan closing to meet home builder and borrower needs.
- Travel to Builder Communities within the Home Builder Division.
What We're Looking For
- Well versed in origination and underwriting guidelines for all types of mortgage loans.
- Very knowledgeable in Conventional, FHA, and VA loan guidelines.
- An active NMLS and Florida Mortgage Loan Originator License, or the ability to obtain one.
- This is an ONSITE position located in Sarasota, Florida.
- This position DOES NOT offer opportunities for Hybrid or Remote work.
