Golden State Farm Credit is looking for a Loan Officer to manage and grow an assigned portfolio within our agricultural lending business. You will combine agricultural knowledge and business acumen to build relationships, manage credit, service loans, and ensure compliant documentation. This role is central to supporting our rural communities and the agricultural industry.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain relationships with agricultural customers to grow your portfolio.
- Analyze financial data to recommend loan structure, terms, and conditions.
- Recommend loan approval, denial, or modification.
- Negotiate loan structure and pricing for presentation to customers and/or the Loan Committee.
- Order and review appraisals and title reports.
- Monitor past dues and service loans, including interest rate conversions and collateral analysis.
- Verify proper documentation and ensure compliance with Association policies and regulatory requirements.
- Work with staff to develop plans to reduce risk for at-risk credit.
- Generate sales leads and educate customers on services and products.
- Represent and promote the Association at outside meetings and events.
- Protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the Association’s systems and client data.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- For Loan Officer: 2 years of credit analyst experience and 0-2 years in sales, lending, or related work.
- For Senior Loan Officer: 3-5 years of loan officer experience.
- Knowledge of the agriculture, financial, and real estate industries, and applied business mathematics.
- Skill in credit analysis, understanding financial statements, GAAP, and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of title issues, easements, tax law, appraisal concepts, and lending practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, internal loan software, and other office tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate, negotiate complex agreements, and deliver difficult news professionally.
- Skill in establishing relationships, educating customers, and promoting credit products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to formulate objective conclusions.

Benefits & Compensation
- Loan Officer Salary Range: $78,521 - $120,026
- Senior Loan Officer Salary Range: $87,502 - $134,590
Work Mode
This is an onsite position located in either Willows, CA or Red Bluff, CA.
