Jacoby & Meyers is hiring a Litigation Paralegal

Responsibilities

  • Accurately complete and submit government claim forms and required documentation by established deadlines.
  • Evaluate claims for correctness, completeness, and adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
  • Monitor the status of submitted claims and keep thorough records of all submissions, communications, and case updates.
  • Track Statutes of Limitations to ensure all filings occur within required timeframes and support timely case advancement.
  • Maintain and manage calendars for key deadlines, reminders, court dates, and assigned tasks.
  • Interact with government agencies to address claims that are pending, delayed, or denied, and coordinate necessary follow-up steps.
  • Respond promptly to requests for additional documents, information, or explanations from agencies or internal teams.
  • Conduct investigative research into parties’ identities, locations, assets, and relevant facts to support litigation planning and claims processing.
  • Prepare legal documents such as summons and complaints for attorney review and approval.
  • Arrange filing of initial court documents through third-party legal filing services.
  • Work with pre-litigation teams to determine which cases should move forward and support smooth transition into litigation.
  • Generate reports by gathering, evaluating, and summarizing data related to active cases.
  • Record significant developments in cases, highlight potential issues, and assist in shaping litigation approaches and strategies.
  • Ensure case management systems are current, accurate, and updated regularly to support workflow and documentation needs.
