Responsibilities
- Oversee all phases of litigation from case inception through trial, including the development of case strategies, discovery, and settlement negotiations
- Meet with clients to understand their legal issues, provide legal advice and develop effective strategies
- Represent clients in court hearings, trials, and arbitration proceedings, ensuring high-quality advocacy at all times
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to inform case strategy and support legal arguments
- Prepare a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests that are clear, concise, and persuasive
- Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to prepare trial materials, including witness lists, exhibit binders, and jury instructions
- Evaluate cases, identify issues, and provide recommendations for the best course of action
- Maintain strong communication with clients, providing regular updates on case status and developments
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in California with a strong understanding of state and federal litigation procedures
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, with a strong emphasis on personal injury or employment law cases
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and courtroom skills, with strong legal writing ability
- Proven trial experience with the ability to assertively represent clients in high-stakes situations
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team as well as independently, while managing multiple cases effectively
