About the Role

Practicebetter is hiring a Litigation Assistant to provide essential administrative and case support. You’ll work closely with a lead attorney and litigation paralegal, taking responsibility for case file management, legal document preparation, and a variety of administrative duties that keep our legal team moving forward.

What You'll Do

  • Perform administrative duties, including scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
  • Implement and improve upon administrative processes for more efficient workflow.
  • Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
  • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts.
  • Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice.
  • Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney.
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions.
  • Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
  • Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney’s calendar and making travel arrangements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, preferably in a law firm setting or in a corporate legal department.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a great attitude and minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation skills.

Nice to Have

  • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate.
  • Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party, or other injury-related practice areas.
