Role Summary
As a Material Handler on the night shift, you play a key role in supporting the production of advanced cell therapy products. Your responsibilities include receiving, verifying, and organizing incoming materials, ensuring proper storage conditions, and preparing kits for manufacturing use. You will manage inventory accuracy, conduct cycle counts, and oversee the movement of drug products and samples throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and confirm incoming shipments against purchase orders and documentation
- Transport, store, and organize materials in designated areas, including controlled and cold environments
- Maintain precise inventory records and monitor expiration dates
- Prepare and deliver consumable kits for production teams
- Support the transfer of donor cells and finished patient drug products
- Perform gowning and maintain supply levels across cleanroom zones
- Follow strict cold chain and cryopreservation procedures when required
Qualifications
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. You should be able to work in cleanroom environments, following strict hygiene and safety standards, including full gowning with face coverings, gloves, hoods, and goggles. You must be physically capable of standing or walking for extended periods, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity of 20/20 (corrected or uncorrected) and normal color vision are required for accurate inspection and labeling tasks.
Preference will be given to candidates with an associate degree, experience in warehouse logistics or material tracking systems, or familiarity with cell and gene therapy operations.
Schedule and Location
This position operates on a night shift schedule, typically from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM or 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Workdays follow a rotating pattern that includes weekends and alternate midweek days. You must be available for scheduled overtime, holidays, and occasional virtual meetings. Assignments may be at either of two Sacramento locations, based on operational needs.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role requiring consistent adherence to cleanroom protocols. You should be comfortable working independently while maintaining strong communication with team members. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to quality and safety in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
