Australian Unity is hiring a Lifestyle Services Assistant to join our Residential Communities team at St Brigid's Green in Maroubra. This part-time role is focused on assisting our elderly residents and building community connections. You will work a set schedule of Wednesdays and Fridays, 8am-4pm, with the ability to pick up additional shifts.
What You'll Do
- Actively encourage residents to participate in a variety of meaningful activities and assist in their delivery.
- Ensure a high level of resident satisfaction at all times.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and volunteers.
- Assist with care plans and programs.
- Continually explore new opportunities and programs to meet the holistic needs of our residents.
- Ensure all reporting requirements are efficiently completed.
What We're Looking For
- Certification in Lifestyle and Leisure or Certificate in Individual Support/Disability is essential.
- Currently have an NDIS Screening Check or are willing to obtain one.
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (minimum 1 dose).
Nice to Have
- Experience working with people living with Dementia or Alzheimer's.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with a positive, engaging personality.
- A person-centred focus and commitment to providing a high level of service.
- Proven initiative and the ability to think creatively when tailoring activities.
