Lake Orion Nursing Center is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse to function as a total resident caregiver, utilizing the nursing process in meeting health care needs in accordance with the Michigan Nurse Practice Act. You'll maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality while respecting resident rights.
What You'll Do
- Perform purposeful hourly rounding addressing pain, position, personal needs, and possessions
- Apply the nursing process in the provision of resident care, including wound care and medication administration
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to formulate and update resident care plans
- Implement resident care plans and enforce facility policies
- Complete required documentation and data entry
- Demonstrate professionalism in all communication with residents, visitors, coworkers, and other healthcare members
- Operate and maintain resident care equipment safely to prevent hazards
- Manage time, equipment, and supplies efficiently
- Perform resident discharge planning
- Encourage resident independence in daily activities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing
- Licensed by the State of Michigan
- BLS Certification
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in a long-term care or acute care setting
