About the Role

Hyundai USA is looking for a General Purchasing Specialist to support our supply chain operations. This entry-level position manages vendors, inventory tracking, and internal department interactions for our major international manufacturing business. You'll be responsible for general purchasing activities and supplier management relating to cost, quality, controls, legal compliance, and service.

What You'll Do

  • Manage vendors, assist with inventory tracking, and interact with internal departments.
  • Review and forecast materials and supply needs for product runs.
  • Assist with inventory reporting and analytics.
  • Place orders with vendors according to planned manufacturing schedules.
  • Research and evaluate various vendors to determine the best price, quality, and availability.
  • Ensure materials are purchased at the best possible price by conducting research and analysis of vendors and costs.
  • Prepare, report, and implement Request for Quotation (RFQ) for general purchasing.
  • Select, develop, and manage supply base for General Purchasing products and services.
  • Formulate and implement yearly commodity and supply base strategy.
  • Work closely with suppliers to optimize supplier processes.
  • Explore available technology and implement best practices related to purchasing activities.
  • Plan, organize, track, and disseminate information related to General Purchasing suppliers.
  • Manage vendor and pricing data in ERP system.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree (all majors)
  • Solid Excel and computer skills
  • Deep understanding of external market and current trends
  • Experience in General Purchasing
  • Domestic / International travel required
  • Strong command of the English language (written and spoken)

Nice to Have

  • Job related experience in Automotive or related Industry
