APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is hiring a Screed Operator to join our asphalt paving and construction team. You will operate paving equipment, assist the crew with manual tasks, and work outdoors in a collaborative team environment under various conditions.
What You'll Do
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations.
- Operate various forms of paving equipment including screed, paver, roller, and tractor.
- Assist construction and paving crews with duties like shoveling, raking, and moving materials.
- Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
- Run small power tools such as a jack hammer.
- Dig, spread, and level construction materials.
- Lift, carry, and hold materials, tools, and supplies.
- Assist in placing, moving, and dismantling traffic control devices.
- Report any problems to your manager and follow their direction on daily tasks.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and 'Fit for Work' physical.
- Valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
- Professional, courteous attitude and reliable attendance.
- Willingness to travel, work away from home, and work nights, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Able to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and supervisors.
- Commitment to wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
- Minimum age of 18 with a high school diploma or GED.
