ASR Group is hiring a Liquor Runner at our Chalmette, LA facility. In this hands-on industrial role, you will be responsible for the precise operation of filtration systems to manage liquor flow and mixture levels. You'll ensure the process runs smoothly and maintain a clean, safe work area.
What You'll Do
- Direct, regulate, and change the flow of liquid streams to and from char filters to maintain appropriate tank and filter levels.
- Engage and stop belts to fill char filters at specified times.
- Ensure proper filter installation, clean filter-gasket rims, secure filter heads, and vent char filters of air.
- Notify Kiln Leadermen when filters are ready to be emptied.
- Start and stop refiltration pumps and liquor-gallery hot-water pumps.
- Collect samples for laboratory analysis, take brix and conductivity readings, and notify supervisor of out-of-specification results.
- Respond to alarms and monitor tank-level gauges.
- Keep your assigned area clean and orderly.
- Maintain accurate written records of all activities.
- Perform various duties as directed by supervisors.
- Perform all job tasks in accordance with established safety and sanitation standards.
What We're Looking For
- 1-2 years of prior experience or training in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to take brix samples, reach instruments, turn valves, and adjust switches.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs effectively.
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, reach, lift, and walk through the work area for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a hot, humid, and dusty environment.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Nice to Have
- Completion of a Process Technician (PTECH) program or degree.
Benefits & Compensation
- Starting Rate: $29.57 per hour.
- Paid vacation and sick time after the probationary period.
