The Department of Psychology is seeking a dedicated full-time Lecturer to join its academic team starting August 15, 2025. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality undergraduate education through in-person instruction at the main campus in Coral Gables, with select courses possibly offered remotely.
Teaching Responsibilities
The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate courses, including research methods, biobehavioral statistics, and introductory psychology subjects such as Introduction to Psychology, Social Cognitive Psychology, Psychopathology, and Developmental Psychology. Depending on expertise, there may also be opportunities to lead upper-level courses like Advanced Research Methods and Diversity Issues in Psychology.
Core duties include preparing course materials, delivering engaging lectures, administering and grading exams, and maintaining regular office hours to support student learning. Instruction will primarily be on-site, though some flexibility exists for online course delivery.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Psychology or a closely related field—clinical or non-clinical—is required by the appointment start date. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach foundational courses in research methods and statistics, as well as introductory psychology content.
Preference will be given to applicants with a strong foundation in research methodology and statistical analysis. Experience teaching advanced undergraduate courses, particularly in specialized areas such as diversity in psychology, is also advantageous.
