Responsibilities
- overseeing and administering all employee leave programs
- ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws
- delivering a consistent, compliant, and employee-centered leave experience
- serving as the subject matter expert for leave of absence programs
- partnering closely with HR, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and leaders to support employees through complex leave situations
- embodying the corporate culture in all interactions
- demonstrating professionalism and excellence in customer service
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, preference to HR
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience with significant focus on leave of absence administration
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills. Must present a professional, positive image at all times
- Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, USERRA, and state and local leave laws
- Experience managing complex leave cases and interpreting regulations
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
Nice to Have
- PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification
- Experience in a multi-state or complex leave environment
